ENGLISH PROVINCIAL EXAM
& LPI COURSE
Objectives:
- To provide students with useful information on the components of the English Provincial Exam and Language Proficiency Index (LPI) exam that is essential for students who plan to study in local Canadian universities.
- To help students strengthen their writing skills of various genres and their comprehension abilities as these proficiencies are prerequisite for achieving outstanding results in public exams.
- To help students understand the requirements of the exams and marking scheme so that they are able to meet the needs of the exams effectively.
- To teach students the strategies of completing the exam papers so that they can perform confidently, tactfully and successfully in the exam.
Instructor Info:
Ms. Katherine Coburn, an experienced English instructor who has been teaching at UBC Continuing Studies English Language Institute and has broad experiences in tutoring university English and ESL, including academic integrity and study skills. Her in-depth knowledge and extensive experiences in teaching English in various post-secondary institutions will help students maximize their potential to the fullest extent in the public exams.
